The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K – 8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. The Franciscan School provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.

Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment – one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church, and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.

Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

Bridges After School Program (Part-time)

We are currently seeking candidates to work in our Bridges After School Program on a part-time basis. Candidates must have a strong desire and ability to work with children, be at least 18 years old, and pass a background screening. Coordinator of Children's Faith Formation

The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi in Raleigh, NC seeks a full-time Coordinator of Children’s Faith Formation to lead our vibrant elementary (K-5) faith formation ministry in a large, innovative, Vatican II parish.

The successful candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a strong commitment and creative passion to evangelize and form young children and their parents in the Catholic faith. Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills are a must. Duties include designing and implementing formation and sacramental programs, selecting and providing catechetical materials for distribution via multiple platforms, recruiting, training, and nurturing volunteer catechists, and developing opportunities to deepen faith via retreats and Vacation Bible School. The Coordinator collaborates with a Faith Formation team of five and a pastoral staff of 30. This person will be comfortable using a small groups model of formation and effective in engaging families both in on-site and virtual platforms. This position requires presence during formation programs for children and their parents which includes weekends and some evenings. Knowledge and experience with the Catechumenate adapted for children of catechetical age is an added advantage.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience in one of the following areas: education, theology, or ministry. Candidates without academic credentials in theology or ministry need to be certified catechists. Preferred candidates will have pastoral experience in administering programs for children, to include sacramental preparation.

Play & Pray Childcare Providers

The Play and Pray Sunday morning ministry of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is currently accepting applications for childcare providers in our 1 and 2 year old rooms. The goal of Play and Pray is to partner with parents of young children, providing an opportunity for parents to attend Mass as a couple, and their children to begin to hear the stories of Jesus, and learn about our Catholic traditions using language and activities that are age appropriate. Providers play, sing songs and read Bible stories with the children. A strong candidate will have experience working with young children and be excited to share their faith with toddlers. Employees are required to be Level C certified, which includes successful completion of a background check. Play and Pray hours are 8:30am-1:00pm every Sunday, except for major holidays.
