The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K – 8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. The Franciscan School provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.

Instructional Teacher Assistant (Full-Time)

The Franciscan School is seeking an Instructional Teacher Assistant (ITA) for one of our kindergarten classrooms. This is a full-time position assisting the lead teachers and grade level team in creating a classroom environment that is consistent with the mission of the school and the parish. The candidate will provide classroom support to the lead teacher in each classroom by providing general assistance with daily tasks, such as copying and planning for lessons, small group assistance, supervision of students when necessary, handling of classroom management issues when appropriate, and assisting with special projects, such as field trips. The ITA is expected to attend parish staff gatherings, conferences, and will collaborate as a member of the team to provide academic excellence for the students.

Bridges After School Program (Part-time)

We are currently seeking candidates to work in our Bridges After School Program on a part-time basis. Candidates must have a strong desire and ability to work with children, be at least 18 years old, and pass a background screening. Pre-School Lead Teacher (Part-time, 15 hours)

St. Francis Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about providing a faith filled education experience to the children enrolled in our 3-year-old class.  This position is part time (15 hours). 

Early Childhood teachers must have either a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or elementary education, or must have 2 years of experience working with young children and have or be in the process of attaining an early childhood credential.

We are seeking an experienced individual who is passionate and dynamic to be the Director of Parish Life, overseeing active volunteer ministries dedicated to the spiritual and pastoral care of our parish community.

The successful applicant will be an active Catholic, preferably with a master’s degree in pastoral ministry, theology, psychology, social work or a related field, and a minimum of two years experience in supervision. This position is pastoral and relational in nature and requires someone highly skilled in handling challenging situations competently and compassionately. Play & Pray Childcare Providers

The Play and Pray Sunday morning ministry of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is currently accepting applications for childcare providers in our 1 and 2 year old rooms. The goal of Play and Pray is to partner with parents of young children, providing an opportunity for parents to attend Mass as a couple, and their children to begin to hear the stories of Jesus, and learn about our Catholic traditions using language and activities that are age appropriate. Providers play, sing songs and read Bible stories with the children. A strong candidate will have experience working with young children and be excited to share their faith with toddlers.
