Fundraising
The primary purpose of the H.S.A is to raise funds to provide for items that will enhance the curriculum of the students at The Franciscan School. Our annual budget is $50,000. Typically there are two fundraisers--one in the fall and one in the spring. In recent years there have been auctions and read-a-thons. The H.S.A. is interested in new ideas for raising the funds to support our school. Please contact a member of the H.S.A. Board if you are interested in being a part of our fundraising program.
Of the $50,000, nearly half goes to school enrichment, with $15,500 earmarked for technology improvements. The next largest allocations, or about 15% each, support: student enrichment activities, such as guest speakers and field day; spiritual enrichment through Catholic Schools Week and CHILD events; and the cultural arts program. The remaining funds in the budget are allocated for events, such as the Newcomers Reception; the Sunshine committee; and faculty enrichment events such as the monthly staff appreciation program.
