Student Council

At the beginning of each school year, TFS Middle School students elect a Student Council to represent the greater whole of the student population. Only 8th Graders may campaign for President and Vice President. Sixth and 7th Graders may campaign for Secretary and Treasurer. Students in each respective grade of 6th, 7th, and 8th may campaign for Student Representative, with two elected from each grade.

The role of the elected members of TFS Student Council is primarily to serve the TFS Community as leaders and role models. The Student Council often fields suggestions from their classmates, which they then take to the Assistant Principal for Middle School, who, along with Administration, reviews the suggestions. TFS relies on the Student Council to serve as school representatives at events such as School Open Houses.  The Student Council also sponsors the "Trimester Honor Roll" receptions, which are held in Jacoba, where they supply the refreshments and also serve as hosts. In short, TFS Student Council represents the student population as a whole in roles of leadership and modeling for other students.
