Bridges Program Information
Early Morning Care is available from 7:00-7:40 AM Monday through Friday in Jacoba Hall. Parents are required to sign their children in at the time of their arrival. Supervision will be provided until 7:40 AM, at which time students will be escorted to their respective buildings. If the school opening is delayed due to inclement weather, then EMC will also be delayed in opening by that same given amount of time. If you need to reach the EMC staff member (Marie Leone) in the morning, please call (919) 534.4837 ext. 400.
The After School Program operates Monday-Friday, beginning at 2:40 (first carpool) and ending at 6:00 PM. Because early release days precede holidays, the afterschool program is closed on those days. If there is ever an exception to this, registered parents will be notified. Following the school day, K-5 students registered for afterschool go to Jacoba Hall and check in with the program staff. Check in for middle school (6th – 8th grade) students is in modular 801.The afternoon begins with a snack and inside free play, followed by an optional homework session for grades 2 through 8 in the Media Center. Outside play is provided daily, weather permitting. During the duration of the afternoon, children in the Bridges Program remain on school grounds. Parents of the program will receive a welcome letter with more specific information at the beginning of each year. Information regarding enrichment classes is shared with registered families throughout the school year as well. Parents or adults on the permission to pick up list, are required to sign out their child upon pick up. Please be aware that there is a late fee of $10 beginning at 6:01 PM per child as well as an additional $10 for every 5-minute increment after the mandatory 6:00 PM pick up time. If school is dismissed or canceled due to inclement weather, Bridges is also canceled for the day. On such occasions, we ask that parents use every means possible to arrive safely at school to pick up their children so that school personnel may also safely make their way home.
