Our hiring process

The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K – 8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. The Franciscan School provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.

Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment – one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church, and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.

Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

Open Positions at The Franciscan School

The Franciscan School is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified elementary classroom teacher. The primary role of the classroom teacher will be to instruct students in the Diocesan Curriculum, while challenging them to move beyond their current level of academic success.  The candidate will demonstrate the ability to draw the students out to reach their full potential as it applies to the goals and requirements of the Diocesan curriculum. As an instructor in a school with over 600 students, the ability to tie together the lessons within each grade as part of the grade level team, and have them build upon each other year after year, using established best practices and methods for instruction, is essential. The applicant would be primary for teaching various academic subjects and Religion.  S/he will work together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment.  One that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church, and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their futures academically, socially, and morally.

Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree and be a Catholic in good standing. Preferred candidates will have a NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure and have teaching experience in elementary education with a record of excellence.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant/Receptionist to join our staff. This is a 12 month, 40 hour per week position assisting The Franciscan School community, with a focus on providing a welcoming presence to families, visitors, and staff. This position has primary responsibility for parent support in the front office, school “TidBits” publishing, and parent newsletters, as well as other areas that support the mission of the school. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills. Experience with desktop publishing and video editing is preferred. St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC announces an opening for a director of pastoral ministries. The parish seeks someone to coordinate the staff and build on the parish’s longstanding history of bringing baptismal and ministerial priesthood together in the collaborative vision of Vatican II and to assist the new pastor in the ongoing formation of the community, especially in the areas of evangelization, missionary discipleship, and stewardship. The director reports directly to the pastor and collaborates with him in bringing a common vision to the parishioners and the staff who serve them. The successful applicant will have a graduate degree in theology, be conversant in the field of evangelization, have a minimum of five years of experience in successful pastoral leadership, demonstrated skills in forming Christian community and change management, and be deeply committed to the vision of Vatican II in accord with the vision of Pope Francis.
