Each morning, Mrs. Jennifer Davis greets children with a smile as she welcomes them to a new day at The Franciscan School. She then transitions to Morning Prayer, where she embraces the moment to gather in community prayer and worship.
Now completing her third year as the K-5 Assistant Principal (Dean of Curriculum and Instruction effective July 1st), Mrs. Davis brings to TFS 15 years of educational experience and a lifelong passion for serving others. Before stepping into the world of education, she served six years in the U.S. Navy as an Electronic Technician, a chapter that also brought her husband. Together, they will soon celebrate 25 years of marriage. Their family of six is a living testament of shared faith and values, with two sons on the path to the priesthood.
Her academic journey spans three institutions: Texas Tech for her undergraduate degree, and graduate degrees from Tarleton State University and Barton College. However, it was in the classroom where she truly found her passion. Before TFS, Mrs. Davis taught elementary school in Nash and Wake counties, and her favorite grades to teach were second grade and kindergarten.
When the pandemic reshaped education, Mrs. Davis transitioned from public schools to a new chapter at St. Raphael’s School in Raleigh, and soon after, joined the administrative team at TFS. “Working at TFS means everything to me,” Mrs. Davis shares. “It’s the greatest opportunity of my professional and spiritual life to serve in this community.”
Her days are rarely the same. From greeting students, leading campus tours, and observing classrooms, to supporting teachers through weekly planning and problem-solving, each day is unique and fulfilling. Fridays are spent in educational team meetings, ensuring that every child’s needs are met with care and strategic support.
Mrs. Davis is passionate about mentoring and supporting teachers. “Fostering a positive staff culture where teachers are regarded as professionals is a responsibility that I take very seriously. Sharing in their experiences and overcoming challenges together is not only a privilege but also something that I enjoy,” she says.
Equally meaningful to Mrs. Davis is the opportunity to engage with our young learners. “There is something truly special about walking alongside young students and witnessing their natural curiosity for the world.” She is inspired by how our emphasis on Catholic Social Teaching nurtures that curiosity, guiding students to explore the world with compassion, faith, and a genuine sense of responsibility for others.
In our treasured space that values faith, academics, and service, we are blessed by the care and leadership of Mrs. Davis.
