The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K—8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. It provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.
Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment - one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.
Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

We are seeking an energetic and caring person for an Instructional Teacher Assistant (ITA) position for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. This is a full-time position assisting the lead teacher and grade level team in creating a classroom environment that is consistent with the mission of the school and the parish. The ITA will support the lead teacher by providing general assistance with daily tasks, such as copying and planning for lessons, small group assistance, supervision of students when necessary, handling of classroom management issues when appropriate, and assisting with special projects, such as field trips. The ITA is expected to attend parish staff gatherings, conferences, and will collaborate as a member of the team to provide academic excellence for the students.

The Franciscan School is seeking energetic candidates with a positive attitude and love of children to work in our Bridges Afterschool Program. Hours and days of the week are flexible, Monday thru Friday 3pm – 6pm. Bridges staff are responsible for the supervision and well-being of students in our program. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete the Diocesan background check. Teacher Assistant – Part Time, (days and hours vary)
St. Francis Preschool has two openings for Teacher Assistants for the 2025/26 school year. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about providing a faith filled education experience to the children enrolled in our preschool. The teacher assistant will support the lead teacher in providing a faith filled education experience, sharing in the responsibilities for the safety and physical well-being of the children. The assistant teacher will engage the children in play and activities that are age and developmentally appropriate.

The Administrative Assistant for Liturgy and Technology supports the liturgical life of the parish through the recruitment, training, and management of liturgical and technical ministries. Responsibilities include managing Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP), ensuring technical support at all liturgies (projection, streaming and sound), maintaining equipment (in collaboration with IT), and supporting major liturgical events. In collaboration with the Director of Liturgy and Music and other pastoral staff, this part-time role includes responsibilities during weekdays and select evenings and weekends.
Key responsibilities: (day-to-day job functions)
- Identifies the need for liturgical ministers and coordinates targeted recruitment initiatives.
- Ensures all liturgical ministers receive appropriate training from designated leaders, with proper documentation maintained.
- Manages the enrollment of liturgical ministers in Ministry Scheduler Pro (MSP) and publishes quarterly schedules in a timely manner.
- Ensures that technical ministry, including, projection, streaming, and sound, are provided at all liturgies as needed. Recruit, train, and schedule ministers for consistent coverage.
- Maintains and supports technical equipment in collaboration with IT and pastoral staff.
- Attends weekend liturgies as needed to build relationships with liturgical ministers and provide on-site support.
- Provides extended availability during Holy Week to support liturgical preparations and services.
- Attends all staff meetings and attends monthly Liturgy Committee meetings.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Faith Formation and volunteer coordinators in supporting the work of OCIA, particularly in ensuring the scheduling and performance of rituals.
- Adheres to parish and diocesan guidelines as outlined in the Diocese of Raleigh Employee Handbook.
- Handles confidential information with tact and discretion.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Evenings and weekends required.
Education, Experience, and Skills (required)
- High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong understanding of and passion for Roman Catholic liturgy, with a commitment to fostering full, active, and conscious participation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of initiative and follow-through.
Education, Experience, and Skills (preferred)
- Previous experience working in a Catholic Parish
