Our Hiring Process

The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K—8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. It provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.
Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment - one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.
Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction across grade-level curriculum areas; familiarity with Amplify CKLA and Envision Math programs is highly desirable.
- Purposefully integrate technology into classroom instruction and coordinate with media and technology specialists to enhance learning experiences.
- Create and implement service-learning opportunities that reflect the principles of Catholic Social Teaching and deepen students’ understanding of the mission and values of both the parish and school communities.
- Demonstrate content expertise by making cross-curricular connections and developing instructional plans that incorporate higher-order thinking skills.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and school administration to foster a supportive and successful academic environment.
- Partner closely with the Instructional Teaching Assistant to co-plan and deliver high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of all students.
Minimum Requirements:
- NC teaching license or equivalent from another state
- Minimum level of Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Elementary School teaching experience.
- Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks
- Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training..
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching lower elementary-aged students.

The Franciscan School is seeking energetic candidates with a positive attitude and love of children to work in our Bridges Afterschool Program. Hours and days of the week are flexible, Monday thru Friday 3pm – 6pm. Bridges staff are responsible for the supervision and well-being of students in our program. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete the Diocesan background check. Teacher Assistant – Part Time, (days and hours vary)
St. Francis Preschool has two openings for Teacher Assistants for the 2025/26 school year. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about providing a faith filled education experience to the children enrolled in our preschool. The teacher assistant will support the lead teacher in providing a faith filled education experience, sharing in the responsibilities for the safety and physical well-being of the children. The assistant teacher will engage the children in play and activities that are age and developmentally appropriate.
