The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K – 8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. The Franciscan School provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.

 

Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment – one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church, and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.

 

Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

Assistant Principal - The Franciscan School

The Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi, has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Principal in its K-8 parish-based parochial school. Founded in August of 2000, The Franciscan School is a state of the art educational facility with a talented and diverse faculty and a current enrollment of more than 650 students. The Franciscan School maintains high academic standards, a strong spiritual focus, a positive atmosphere, enthusiastic parental involvement, and community service, all in the Franciscan tradition of a strong Catholic educational environment supported by the parish community.

The qualified applicant must be a practicing Catholic possessing a Master’s degree (or higher) in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction, must have or be eligible for an administrator’s license from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and must have both classroom and administrative experience, preferably across multiple grade levels. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills that foster collaboration with parents, students, faculty, and parish staff and demonstrate excellent large and small group communication. The candidate will also be technologically proficient in school administrative software, Microsoft office and web-based communication tools.

Elementary Teacher, Grade 3 - Full time

The Franciscan School is seeking a qualified classroom teacher in the 3rd grade. The primary role of the classroom teacher will be to instruct students in the diocesan curriculum for that specific grade, while challenging them to move beyond their current level of academic success.  The candidate will demonstrate the ability to draw the students out to reach their full potential as it applies to the goals and requirements of the Diocesan curriculum. As an instructor in a school with over 660 students, the ability to tie together the lessons within each grade as part of the grade level team, and make them build upon each other year after year, using established best practices and methods for instruction, is essential. Spanish Enrichment Instructor - Part Time

St. Francis Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic individual who is bilingual in Spanish to join our staff as a Part Time Spanish Enrichment instructor for 8-10 hours/week.  This person will be responsible for developing and delivering fun-filled lessons that will engage and enhance the preschool experience of our three, four and five year olds.  Successful completion of the Diocesan background check and experience working with  3-5 year olds is required.  Knowledge and experience in lesson planning for 3-5 year olds is preferred.  To apply, please email Heidi.hobler@stfrancisraleigh.org

Administrative Assistant for Operations - Full Time

This position provides outstanding administrative support to the departments of operations, stewardship and safe environment with tact and confidentiality. The ability to multi-task in an effective and efficient manner is required, as this position handles a wide variety of duties, including website and database management, as well as communications and logistical support for events. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, as well as strong computer skill.

Director of Engagement and Development - Full Time

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, NC announces an opening for a Director of Engagement and Development. The parish, an award winning and nationally recognized community of 5000 households with a pastoral staff of 30, seeks someone to develop, oversee, and implement a comprehensive vision of inviting and involving our members in fulfilling their baptismal mission by identifying and sharing their gifts and their material resources in response to the Lord. A graduate degree in theology, pastoral ministry, counseling, church administration or a related field is preferred as well as at least two years of successful fund-raising experience and familiarity with the USCCB’s stewardship ministry vision and documents. Applicants must have a strong relationship with the Lord, excellent interpersonal skills, be a skilled listener, and be comfortable in a variety of settings with diverse groups. Some nights and weekends are required. The director collaborates with the pastoral staff in building the parish’s longstanding history of bringing baptismal and ministerial priesthood together in the collaborative vision of Vatican II.

Director of Faith Formation - Full Time

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church seeks a passionate and dynamic individual to joining our staff as director of faith formation.  The director of formation will oversee a comprehensive formation program serving pre-K through adults, including sacramental preparation and a year-round RCIA. The director supervises and collaborates with a formation team and administrative staff in establishing goals and implementing programs using contemporary Catholic evangelization and catechetical approaches.  The director collaborates with the leadership team in building on the parish’s longstanding history of bringing baptismal and ministerial priesthood together in the collaborative vision of Vatican II.

The successful applicant will have a degree in theology or related field (master’s preferred), be conversant in the fields of evangelization and contemporary approaches to catechesis, and have a minimum of five years in successful leadership in formation ranging from young children to adults.  A minimum of two years of direct supervisory experience is required along with demonstrated knowledge and skills in adult initiation and adult faith formation.
