Our Hiring Process
The Franciscan School is part of the Education Ministry of the Catholic Community of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh, North Carolina. The K—8th grade school was established in 2000 and is rooted in the Franciscan tradition. It provides a learning environment that embraces the Gospel values of the Roman Catholic faith.
Successful applicants would be responsible for working together with the entire faculty and the administrative team to provide a safe and academically challenging environment - one that builds upon the charism of the Catholic Church and our Franciscan traditions, to form our students as fine young men and women prepared for their future academically, socially, and morally.
Candidates must pass a background check and have NC teaching licensure or be able to obtain NC teaching licensure. Preferred candidates will have teaching experience in education and a record of excellence.

The Franciscan School is currently seeking a qualified individual for 2026-2027 school year to serve as the Technology Integration Specialist. This position supports technology integration across all K–8 classrooms, enhancing teaching and learning through innovative and responsible digital practices. The Technology Integration Specialist works with students and teachers to build digital fluency, collaborates weekly with the Media Specialist to design engaging lessons, and provides training to ensure technology is effectively embedded in the curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Collaboration & Curriculum Integration
- Partner weekly with the Media Specialist to co-plan and co-teach interdisciplinary lessons that integrate digital literacy, research skills, and media fluency.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement technology-rich instructional strategies that align with curriculum goals and enhance student engagement.
- Support the development of project-based learning experiences that incorporate digital tools, coding, multimedia, and emerging technologies.
Professional Development & Coaching
- Provide ongoing professional learning opportunities for faculty on effective technology integration and instructional tools.
- Model best practices in instructional technology and digital assessment.
- Mentor teachers in the use of learning management systems (e.g., Google Classroom) and other digital platforms.
Student Support & Digital Citizenship
- Teach students essential digital citizenship skills, including online safety, ethical technology use, and media literacy.
- Support students in using technology for research, collaboration, and creative expression.
- Assist with student-led tech initiatives, clubs, or makerspace activities.
Technology Leadership & Innovation
- Serve on the school’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Committee, contributing to the thoughtful integration of AI tools in teaching and operations.
- Stay current with trends in educational technology and recommend tools that align with the school’s mission and instructional goals.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement a vision for digital learning and innovation.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings and other parish employee events
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- NC teaching license
- Demonstrated experience in technology integration in K–8 settings.
- Proficiency in Google Classroom, learning management systems, and a variety of educational software and hardware.
- Strong technical skills, including hardware/software maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to train and support teachers and students in effective technology use.
- Experience with digital tools, learning platforms, and instructional technology best practices.
- Commitment to promoting digital literacy, safety, and responsible technology use.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility and initiative.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Prior teaching experience
Other Requirements
- Satisfactorily passing Diocese of Raleigh criminal background screening and reference checks
The Franciscan School is seeking energetic candidates with a positive attitude and love of children to work in our Bridges Afterschool Program. Hours and days of the week are flexible, Monday thru Friday 3pm – 6pm. Bridges staff are responsible for the supervision and well-being of students in our program. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and successfully complete the Diocesan background check.
