Application Process

The Franciscan School private school admissions and application process is simple and straight forward! Click on the “Apply to TFS” link below to create a new application. Carefully read and  complete each step.  If you have questions on the admissions process, please contact our Admissions Office at or 919.534.4837 extension 651 for Middle School or extension 254 for Elementary School.

Teacher recommendations are needed as follows.
Enter teacher names and email addresses in the “Referral Documents” section of the online application.

All supporting documents must either be uploaded to the online application portal or mailed to:

Please note that applications will not be reviewed by The Franciscan School Admissions Committee until all of the above components to the application are received by the Admissions Department.

We Are Now Accepting Applications For The 2020-21 School Year

The Franciscan School Admissions Policy

Entrance Age: Children entering Kindergarten are to be five years of age on or before August 31st for enrollment in the current academic year. Children entering the first Grade are to be six years of age on or before the same date.

Application: A $60 non-refundable application fee is due upon submission of the online application.

A student’s admission is conditional upon the satisfactory completion of the year in progress; in addition to the student’s needs and abilities, and a review of the requirements listed above.

Notification of Admission: Based upon satisfactory completion of the application process, review of a student’s application and strength of credentials, and space availability, a student will be extended an offer of admission with a letter of admission, tuition agreement, and enrollment packet. 

Enrollment:  The enrollment and tuition agreement must be completed and returned to The Franciscan School office within (10) business days.

Tuition & Fees

All families agree to pay the Full Cost Tuition Rate per child unless notified of eligibility for the Steward Rate as approved by the Pastor.

  • Full Cost: A non-Catholic family. 


  • Catholic Participating Member of a Parish (other than St. Francis) in the Diocese of Raleigh:  A Catholic family registered in another parish, who has submitted a signed Pastor Recommendation Form.

  • St. Francis of Assisi Parish Steward Rate:
    Registered parishioners who support our community with their time, talent, and tithe are eligible for the steward rate after a review by the Pastor of the annual Family Stewardship Form.
  • The Family Stewardship Form can be accessed and submitted on the parish website

Fees and Payment Options

Application Fee: $60 non-refundable

Registration Fee: $400 per child

Payment made directly to TFS on or before July 20th. A 1% discount applies to this option.

FACTS Tuition Management administers the trimester payment option. Payments are drafted July 20th, November 20th, and February 20th.

FACTS Tuition Management administers the monthly payment option. The first payment is July 20th; final payment is April 20th.

Tuition Assistance

We are committed to serving all those who seek a Catholic education that’s rooted in a Franciscan dedication to helping others. The parish and The Franciscan School provide significant need-based financial aid for families. In the 2019-20 academic year, we awarded over $310,000 in financial aid.
