Alumni Spotlight: Sheevanie Casimir ‘15

“I am proud to be a Timberwolf.”

To Sheevanie Casimir, The Franciscan School means family and belief. She attended TFS from 1st through 8th grade, graduating in 2015. “TFS provided me with a strong educational foundation and it was the first place where someone other than my parents believed in me,” says Sheevanie. “TFS gave me the foundational needs that have brought me to where I am today.” This foundation has carried Sheevanie through high school, college, graduate school, and eventually medical school. Following TFS, Sheevanie attended Trinity Academy of Raleigh for high school, and then Wake Forest University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish.

Sheevanie is currently attending Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine where she will graduate in 2025 with a master’s degree in biomedical sciences. She hopes to then attend medical school where she hopes to be a physician, either in emergency medicine, neonatal, or pediatrics.

During her time at TFS, Sheevanie enjoyed being a part of the cheerleading team and taking trips to Washington, D.C., Camp Hanes, and the Shamrock Tournament. “From TFS, I met so many people and made many great friends, including my best friend Gabby,” says Sheevanie. Sheevanie credits Mrs. Finch, Mrs. Wacenske, Mrs. Moser, Mrs. Burdette, and Mrs.Giannini for impacting her life greatly. “These teachers have always believed in me and encouraged me with a smile. From a young age, I have always had the goal of making someone smile, just to brighten up their day, so it was nice to get that encouragement from my teachers.”

Today, while attending graduate school, Sheevanie also enjoys reading, listening to music, cooking, and hanging out with family and friends. She has been volunteering at Your Choice Pregnancy Center and the Harnett County Food Pantry.

When asked to share advice with current TFS students, Sheevanie wants to encourage students to make the most of their experiences. “Focus on the now and try to make someone smile because you never know what someone is going through and you might be that one person that brightens their day.” Future medical patients will certainly appreciate Sheevanie’s breath of fresh air. Thanks for being a proud Timberwolf, Sheevanie!
